Build authority-ready proof of theory, placements, departments, examinations and actual nursing activities.

Why the diploma alone is not enough

Austria compares the substance of foreign nursing education with the relevant Austrian profession. A diploma confirms graduation but may not show what was taught or practised. The authority needs evidence capable of separating theory from clinical education and connecting subjects, hours, examinations and placements to the qualification claimed.

What a useful curriculum should show

Request an institution-issued curriculum or transcript showing programme length, each subject, theoretical hours, practical or laboratory hours, clinical hours and examination results. It should identify the education provider, study dates and qualification. A translated course list without hour distribution may not allow a reliable equivalence comparison.

    Make clinical placements auditable

For every placement, document facility, department, dates, total hours, supervision and activities. Distinguish internal medicine, surgery, geriatrics, community care, psychiatry, paediatrics and other areas rather than reporting one combined practice total. The authority—not the applicant or employer—decides which documented experience is relevant and whether educational differences remain.

Work experience supports but does not rewrite education

Employment references should state employer, dates, weekly hours, ward and concrete duties, preferably on official letterhead with a verifiable contact. Experience may help describe your professional history, but do not assume it automatically replaces missing formal education. Submit truthful records and let the competent authority decide how each item affects the assessment.

Build a master table before translation

Create one table listing every subject and placement, source document, original wording, hours and missing evidence. Ask the school to correct or supplement gaps before certified translation, legalisation or apostille. Our document review can identify inconsistencies and prepare authority questions, but only the competent Austrian body can establish equivalence and prescribe measures.
